Stan Davies Memorial Fund

Mr. Stan Davies, a grain farmer from Southern Alberta, loved the country and planned to leave a legacy to Agriculture.
He set up a fund, to benefit students who wished to return to the land, through the company that he hauled grain to, the Alberta Wheat Pool.
The Alberta Wheat Pool and Manitoba Pool formed Agricore in 1998. Agricore and United Grain Growers merged in 2001 and formed Agricore United. Agricore United provided farmers and end-users with a complete pipeline of products and services and markets agricultural commodities domestically and internationally. Agricore United transferred the management of the funds to Olds College.
An anonymous donor matched the permanent fund and it is the largest single endowment benefiting student entrance bursaries at Olds College.
Mr. Davies did not have children of his own but his legacy lives through the students that he assists through the memorial fund.
