Red Shed Malting

Red Shed Malting is a malt house owned and operated by the Hamills and located on the fourth-generation family farm. They produce a full line of base malts and specialty malts and had the first malt roaster in Canada. Their specialty malts make more beer styles and spirits possible out of only Canadian ingredients.

The malt house began operations around the same time as the Olds College Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program and they have grown together and partnered in numerous ways. The team at Red Shed is grateful for the support they have received from the Central Alberta agriculture community, Olds College and the alumni of the Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program, many of whom are loyal customers. They are happy to be able to give back and support Olds College students.
