Katie Thomas Memorial Scholarship

The Katie Thomas Memorial Scholarship is for a second-year Land & Water Resources student who plans to pursue a career in Environmental Conservation.

This scholarship honours the memory of Katie Thomas, a Land & Water Resource Diploma graduate of 2019. A bright young student, Katie was known by her instructors as a “gentle, earnest spirit” with a great passion for environmentalism and her studies. Showing a sincere interest in the Olds College community, Katie often wandered into an instructor’s office to sit, chat, and talk about her classes, life, and loyal friends. This award is dedicated to those students who demonstrate exceptional enthusiasm and volunteerism in environmental causes that would carry forward Katie’s deep care for the outdoors.
