Donna Mihailoff Memorial Fund
Donna Mihailoff’s life journey ended peacefully on January 24, 2003 in Olds, Alberta.
Donna was born in Fairview, Alberta on September 21, 1945.
She was a gifted student, had many friends and enjoyed her life in small town, Alberta.
At the age of sixteen she entered into the University of Alberta and at nineteen had completed a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Pharmacy.
After a successful career in pharmacy her adventurous spirit took her to the cities of Halifax, Calgary, Toronto, Virginia Beach, Fairview, Vancouver and Olds.
Donna was fortunate in her travels as she was able to see the skies of Australia, Guatemala and Mexico.
As well, she felt very fortunate that through her work at Olds College she traveled to Harbin, China the birthplace of her mother. Donna truly loved China and being with her Olds College and NEAU Colleagues brought much happiness to her life.
She looked after the International Students who came to Olds College from Japan, Chile, Brazil, Russia, China and Mexico, as well as she organized and worked with our Youth International Internship students who were placed in work sites overseas.
All through Donna’s life she touched many people through her love, warmth, smile and friendship. She truly felt that her life had meaning and contribution, because of the people she worked with, at and through the college; and the many students she was able to touch and have in her life.
Impact
In recognition of our special friend and colleague an annual award is being provided to a student who is making positive changes in their life by attending Career and Academic Preparation.
Donna would be so very pleased to know that she will be remembered in this way.
