Darcy McLachlan Memorial Award
In Memory of Darcy McLachlan
February 29, 1968 – November 12, 2025
Life is a journey shaped by those who travel alongside us. Though we must sometimes say goodbye, the memories and connections we share remain with us as we continue on our way.
An alumnus of Olds College’s Landscape Horticulturalist apprenticeship program, Darcy McLachlan is remembered through an award that helps others follow the path he once travelled. The Darcy McLachlan Memorial Award carries his legacy forward by supporting hardworking students as they develop their skills and take the next steps in their own journeys.
Inspired by “The Bus Ride of Life,” the award honours the lasting impact of those who share our journey and reminds us to cherish our fellow travellers, give the best of ourselves, and leave something meaningful for those who follow.
Impact
This award will run for five years, from Fall 2026 until Winter 2030, to help support two hard-working Landscape Horticulturalist Apprenticeship Program for each Fall and Winter session of the program.
